Your investment in AgEcon Search advances our vision to:
What began as a local project with 50 papers has evolved into an international resource covering current and retrospective content in 15 languages from all over the world. Digitization projects have ensured the preservation and dissemination of thousands of research papers ranging from 1914 to the present.
Our global reach is evident in the 15,000 daily visitors from over 170 countries, making us the largest free, digital library of literature in agricultural and applied economics in the world. Researchers access AgEcon Search to learn from our global community of scholars and make new discoveries that build on their legacy.
AgEcon Search is the archive of the agricultural and applied economics profession. Without it my research task would have been much harder and the whole profession would be at a loss. AgEcon Search provides an invaluable service in preserving older and lesser-used works, especially in developing countries such as my own. Even more importantly, their easy-to-use platform disseminates it to the largest possible audience. – Jan Greyling, Lead: Stellenbosch AgroInformatics Initiative, Stellenbosch University, South Africa
I find that, when I’m looking for an article on a topic that’s new to me, AgEconSearch comes up – either directly because I look there or indirectly because I google the topic and AgEconSearch is well optimized so that it comes up high on the list of results. Other sub-disciplines of economics are extremely poorly served by comparison with agricultural economics. – Will Martin, Senior Research Fellow, International Food Policy Research Institute, Washington, DC, USA
Graduate students in our program who shared their theses in AgEcon Search have been able to get jobs in international research organizations, and most are now progressing with Ph.D. degrees in Europe or the United States. Over 164 graduate students over the next two to three years are gearing to submit their theses in AgEcon Search when they complete their studies. – Professor George Owuor Center Leader of the African Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness Management (CESAAM) at Egerton University, Kenya
I find AgEcon Search a very valuable site for literature review. Whenever I begin a new research project, AgEcon Search is one of the sources I go to collect literature related to the project. Because of the vast collection of the materials, AgEcon Search is highly valuable to agricultural economists and graduate students all over the world for their research work. – Stephen Devadoss, Emabeth Thompson Endowed Professor, Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, Texas Tech University, USA
